Homework
Homework is usually sent out on Tuesday afternoon and should be returned to school on the following Monday. Please have a quick look at it on the day that it is sent home, even if you don't intend to do it then - that way, if you have any problems, you have got time to ask about it and get any help that you need. There are four types of task: English, Maths, Times Tables/Spelling practise or a 'Learning Log' style task. Also don't forget to read and get your record signed! Reading should be done four times a week at home. See our school page for examples of Star Homework Spellings In addition, a new set of spellings will be set on a Monday. These should be learnt and the children will be tested on the Friday of the same week. PE
Our PE lessons are: Thursday morning - indoor Friday morning - outdoor WC 24th February - children will have dance on a Monday afternoon so they will require indoor kit for this. Dance will be done each Monday up until Easter break instead of indoor PE on a Thursday. It is important to have a correct and complete kit for all PE please. Earrings should not be worn. Collaborative Learning OpportunitiesThroughout the term, the children are given the opportunity to work in small groups, allowing them to develop in many ways: share ideas and workload, work effectively as part of a group, developing their communication skills, and delegating specific roles within that group, to each individual.
During a recent History lesson, the children were put into small groups and tasked with creating an information poster all about pirate life - they used the school Chromebooks to research and find facts, as well as using the knowledge they had gained from other lessons this term, in order to produce some excellent pieces of work. (Memo thinking skills character). Key Skill: Select and organise relevant historical information The termly theme is incorporated and linked to the school curriculum and will provide the children with access to lots of exciting and interesting lessons which I hope class MC will enjoy.
