In our role play area, we have a lot of opportunities for us to practise being Wizards. Like our dress up box where we can decide which witch or wizard we would like to be.
Harry Potter Day!!
Welcome to the potions class from Harry Potter Day. In this class the whole of Lower School got a taster of how to make magic potions and see some fantastic chemical reactions. We came up with some lovely ideas of spells and the wizardry ingredients we would add into them. For example an invisibility spell potion we would need dragons tears and bats milk!
Down in our Forest School Wood we have carried on our Wizards theme by using natural resources to make wands.
All of our lessons will have wizard themes! In some cases we will be doing small projects for the Ministry of Magic to help us to Graduate. We have been receiving letters from the Ministry of Magic, check out our Hogwarts Notice Board.
In Literacy we have been learning how to write fiction and nonfiction pieces. The Ministry of Magic has asked us to read as many magic and wizard type stories as we can to add to our studies.
For Maths we have been using potions, data collection for the Wizard Awards and spells to help us with our number, geometry and data work.
In Science we have been learning about materials and which material will be best for a wizards cloak. We linked this to our Design and Technology project of making wizard wands.
In P.E we have been learning the rules and skills to play Quidditch. Our broom flying skills are getting there!
