Summer term is here!! Classes are all back in school , and we have already begun to explore our new topic based on Australia. We are designing front cover art work for our new theme books, and have been exploring the artwork of the aboriginal people who have inhabited Australia for over 60,000 years. Take a look at how we are getting on so far.... we have had to learn how to use a paint brush effectively, as well as using other tools to create the dot patterns.

Class UH have made these incredibly detailed models of the houses and villas from the city of Pompeii in 79AD, just before the catastrophic eruption that buried the city for thousands of years. They have used drawings and records to research the style of buildings, the windows, doors and balconies, and experimented with ways to show the construction of the tiled roofs. Next week they will construct a city square or forum, as well as a fine temple.
