Our first project of the year is called ‘War and Conflict’ and we will be learning about British heritage through the context of the World Wars.

Using war themed narratives, we will analyse and learn narrative writing skills such as description, suspense, flashbacks and the difference between Standard English and dialect. We will use these skills to write our own extracts from the stories. During Design and Technology lessons, we will also study instructions and recipes.

Weekly Homework

Homework will usually be set each Tuesday. Please encourage your child to check that they understand the homework before the weekend; this will give them time to ask their teacher for help.  Please remind your child that their homework must be handed in each Tuesday morning. Finally, your child will receive three crystals if they read more than four times a week, and complete their weekly homework, so don’t forget to sign their Reading Record.

PE days - Autumn Term

Monday - indoors
Tuesday - outdoors

Please make sure your child comes to school in the correct clothing that includes a warm jacket, and jogging or tracksuit trousers. Where possible we will try to continue to have PE lessons, even if the weather is not on our side.
