Can you make light go around corners using mirrors?
Can you make coloured light? Is your reflection always the same? Can you trick your eyes? How can you make things appear bigger and smaller? We had an amazing time on Thursday! We started off by learning about World War 1 trenches, and the different ways that they were built. We have also been learning about how awful life in the trenches could be, as well as some happier moments, such as the Christmas Truce. Then we set off for the beach! The weather was kind to us :) We made sure we were safe by working in our class bubbles and we kept off of 'no-man's land'. Once we had built our trenches, we had some fun spying on the enemy using our periscopes which we made in our Science and DT lessons. The periscopes allowed us to see over the top of the trench, without sticking our head above the wall!
Key Skills to be a Geographer: Develop geographical skills and fieldwork
We learnt about 4 figure and 6 figure grid references in the classroom. Then we chose our challenge: either 4 figure, or 6 figure grid references! We went to Hadley Hills and Hadley Woods and used our maps and grid references to find hidden punchers. When we found one, we punched the pattern onto our sheets, next to its grid reference.
