Pupil Premium Funding

What is it?
Pupil Premium is an additional source of funding provided to schools by the government. The amount allocated is based on numbers of pupils eligible for free school meals at any any time during the last 6 years, or who have been looked after continuously for 6 months. This funding is intended to address the inequalities in achievement between disadvantaged and non disadvantaged pupils across the country. Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit and are held accountable, externally, for outcomes for all pupils.
Objectives
  • The funding will be used to diminish the difference between the achievement of disadvantaged pupils at Holland Haven Primary compared to non-disadvantaged pupils nationally
  • The leadership team will regularly review the provision and evaluate its impact, as outlined in the school's Pupil Premium Strategy Statement

Key Principles
  • High expectations are in place for all pupils
  • Deprivation is not equated with low outcomes or potential
  • Evidence-based research is used to inform provision (teaching practice that makes the most impact on progress)
  • Needs and outcomes are monitored for all pupils

 How is the funding spent?
