Autumn Term

Autumn term in EYFS is a very busy term!
Look at what we have been up to! Our topics we look at our 'All about me' 'My Home' and 'Autumn and Harvest'

Below is a table of the 7 areas of the foundation stage curriculum (3 Prime areas and 4 Specific areas)
It shows you the different activities we are take part in.

Personal , Social and Emotional Development

We have been thinking about the ourselves and our home.  We also had a circle time about different feelings......when we feel happy and when we feel sad and what we can do if we do feel like this.

Physical Development

The finger play table in our classroom has also been filled with lots of activities to get our fingers moving ready for writing! We have also been using the new PE equipment in our outside area.

Communication, Language and Literacy

We have started our letters and sounds programme.  We focus on listening and attention skills then start to introduce different sounds.  We have been using our buried treasure game on the Interactive whiteboard and sounding out words and putting them in the chest (if they are real words) or
in the bin (if they are made up words!)

Understanding the World

We have looked at different types of homes and sharing with our friends what our house looks like.  We also had a try at painting our homes as well.  We also looked at homes around the world and how they are different to ours.

Literacy

We are practising forming our names correctly.  We practise this every morning when we come into school. We are also practising writing new sounds that we learning in letters and sounds.

Mathematics

Our maths focus is counting from 1-20 and recognise the numbers.  We are also looking at 2D shapes and the properties of these.
