A long while ago, far back in the history of Holland Haven Primary School, there was a pond and wildlife area. Many hands toiled to create a haven for our creatures, and a wonderful learning space. But time and the seasons have passed, and sadly this part of our beautiful school has become abandoned and neglected... and transformed itself into a wilderness.... UNTIL NOW!!!

Classes across all key stages began an investigation to try to discover what lives on our hands . Watch this space to find out our results! Class UH explored the eight phases of the Moon using Oreo biscuits to show the different shape of the Moon in its phases. Of course we had to eat the cookies after!!

Class MD receive a surprise package after our whole school Skip2BFit challenge! A Blueberry bush to plant in the school ground a so that we can grow our own delicious and nutritious blueberries.
Today we travelled through our Solar System together in the comfort of our own school!! We were extremely excited to welcome a mobile planetarium into school, and to experience the awe and wonder of a 3 dimensional stellar simulation. What a way to bring our learning about Earth and it’s Solar System to life!
Year 5 and 6 have been learning about the circulatory system, the heart and blood . Today, they learned about the function of the blood cells, and designed their own characters to reflect the role each different type of blood cell has.
