Our Castles theme - Autumn Term
Our learning has a historical focus which includes learning about the different parts of the castle and how castles were built to help defend the people who lived inside from invaders.
We are also finding out about the jobs that people in castles had to do and about the differences between the food they ate in then and now.
We will be investigating how a castle banquet was planned and prepared.
We had a wonderful time at Colchester Castle...
In the spring term we will be delving into the land of dinosaurs...
We will be writing adventure stories by travelling back in time to when the dinosaurs roamed the earth. As part of our history curriculum, we will find out about the palaeontologist Mary Anning.
Our science topics focus on animal classification and what animals need to survive, followed by looking at a range of habitats and the finding out about what plants need to grow.

Join us at the Seaside to explore our Ocean Theme this
Summer Term
During our lessons we will be using the theme of Seaside to explore information and stories inspired by the ocean and its sea creatures!
In our theme work, we are learning how to write stories with a sea creature theme, recounts from beach trips and other visits, poems using our senses from our visits and information texts about the ocean.
As responsible members of our world, we are exploring how we can look after the conservation of our
coastline and ocean.
