Fun at the Seaside

Below is a table of the 7 areas of the foundation stage curriculum (3 Prime areas and 4 Specific areas)
It shows you the different activities we have completed
Personal , Social and Emotional Development

We have been thinking about where we live in the world - linked to our space topic.

Physical Development

The finger play table in our classroom has also been filled with lots of activities to get our fingers moving ready for writing! We have also been practising different races for sports day!
Communication, Language and Literacy

We turned our role play area inside the classroom into "The Lighthouse Keeper's lunch" - we are really enjoying this story!

Understanding the World

We have compared things from the past to now - we focused on the seaside.  We looked at what the beach and seaside looked like may years ago.
Literacy

We have looked at many different texts.
In our phonics lessons we have been using our knowledge to read and write sentences.
We are also writing postcards.

Mathematics

Our maths focus learning our number bonds to 10.
We have also covered sharing (division) and subtraction facts.

Expressive Art and Design

We have been creating many different things.  We looked at different Artists.  We even designed our own spaceship in our space topic!  We then used any construction materials we liked to then build our design.
In the construction area outside we have been building many different things.  We have really enjoyed our mud kitchen this term.
