Who are the Friends of Holland Haven?

The Friends of Holland Haven, also known as FOHH, are the schools equivalent to a PTFA.  We are a registered charity (charity number 1023913) and we organise a variety of social and fundraising events throughout the school year.

How are the FOHH different to a traditional PTA?

PTFA stands for Parent, Teacher & Friends Association, but the Friends of Holland Haven are more than that. We include everyone connected to the children and the school. Be it parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, we want everyone to be involved!  Every parent automatically becomes a member of the committee as soon as their child enters the school!

The elected committee for 2024/25

The elected committee for school year 2024/25 are listed below along with their email addresses.  You can also contact them via the school office.

Chairperson - Sam C - [email protected]

Vice-Chair - Sam W - [email protected]

Treasurer - Hayley - [email protected]

Secretary - Steph C - [email protected]

Pre-loved Unform / Costume - Heidi   - [email protected]

Raffle & Sponsorship - Danielle - [email protected]

As well as the core committee members listed above, all other parents/grandparents/carers of students at Holland Haven Primary School are automatically included in the committee.

Pre-Loved uniform shop

We have a good supply of pre-loved uniform available to purchase with prices starting at just 50p per item.  We are also starting to collect fancy dress costumes to support the school's themed dress up days that are held throughout the school year.  All the funds raised from the sale of uniform and costumes are used to support the school.

We also gratefully accept donations of any clean and usable uniform and costumes that you no longer need.  These can be left in the donation bin outside the Preloved Shed. .

We run regular pop-up shops, these will be announced on our facebook page, but if you need any uniform or costumes in between you can always contact Heidi, our pre-loved co-ordinator, by email at:

[email protected]

How you can get involved

The Friends of Holland Haven run monthly meetings at the school to discuss our plans, why not come along? Don't worry about childcare, children are welcome too, we will have an area set up for colouring etc.  A list of meeting dates can be found at the bottom of this page.

You can also follow our Facebook page Family & Friends of Holland Haven Primary School where we detail all the events that are going on. We also use this page to ask for volunteers to help with different events. Remember you must be 13 years old or over to use Facebook.  You can also tag us @hollandhavenpta.

Most importantly.... you don’t need to have any special skills, you don’t need to be outgoing, you don’t need to commit to every meeting or every event.  Its just about wanting to help provide the best start for all our children!

If you don't wish to be active on the committee you can still help us by displaying our events posters, sharing our events on Facebook, attending our events where possible, and donating preloved uniform and costumes.  Please encourage others to attend too!

You may work for a company that allows staff to participate in the pound for pound charity events, or your company can support in other ways by donating prizes. If you run your own business, you may have skills or facilities that could be beneficial to the school.  Perhaps you would like to advertise in our Summer Fair programme.

If you have any ideas for fundraising, please do not hesitate to contact us.  If you would like to join our active members, we would love to hear from you.  Please contact any member of the committee or come along to our next meeting.

Easy ways to help from the comfort of your own home!

How it works:
  • Visit easyfundraising.org
  • Sign up providing a few details
  • Download the browser extension, this will tell you when a donation is available.
  • Buy the items you were planning on purchasing and see the funds you have raised for the school!

Your School Lottery
A quick and easy way to support the school all year round.  Simply sign up to play the school lottery at www.yourschoollottery.co.uk.  Click buy a ticket, then you will be prompted to search for the school you want to support.  Simply type in Holland Haven and we will appear.  The tickets cost £1 per week, and for every ticket played £0.40 goes directly to school funds.  You could win a small local cash prize, plus be in with a chance of winning the national Jackpot!

Since it was set up, the FOHH has raised money from holding various events.  The money raised has paid for items, activities or projects, which benefit the school and the pupils.

These luxuries would not be affordable without the help of the FOHH as they are outside the normal school budget.
