This volcano was created by a Billie and her mum - each step of this project is documented in the A3 booklet above! It is over a metre tall and 50cm wide!

Kurt worked hard in partnership with his mum to build this imaginative Wonka World! They created the structure from cardboard and used many art and craft materials and tools to bring a magical feel to the design.

Bobby and his mum painted this beautiful picture using acrylic paints on canvas. They started by leaving a small, white circle as the moon and then mixed dark and light colours to create the sky and sea shadows. When the background was dry, they carefully painted the pirate ship in black and white.

Anais and her mum painted and shaped this old shoe box into a pirate ship! They used bamboo sticks for the mast, string around cardboard for the plank and a piece of material for the sail! Using materials such as blue tack and glue to secure the joins, they created a sturdy, strong structure. Well done!
Picture
This pirate ship was created by a pupil, and his dad - they used an old toy to form the base of the boat and bought bamboo sticks. They also used art and craft techniques such as paper-mache to shape the boat. An effective design!

Archived Home School Projects

Picture
Alfie and his parents designed this pirate ship using a range of resources: milk cartons, pipe cleaner, card boxes, yogurt pots and kitchen rolls. They used tools such as a screw driver and painted, glued and cut. Great design-skills!
Dinosaurs
Picture
Tommy and his dad created this person-sized dinosaur costume using recycled cardboard: a shoe box for the head, egg cartons for the eyes and tissue boxes and sponges for the feet! They glued layers of blue and green tissue to create the dinosaur skin.
Picture
Ruby and her mum created these dinosaur feet using ridged cardboard to create the scaly effect. Together, they painted the feet marble colours to look like dinosaur skin and attached velcro for straps so she can wear them!
Picture
Picture
Billy worked with his mum to create this detailed, rustic pirate ship! They painted the cardboard ship and the cut-out anchor and flag, used sticks for the rigging and made the sails billow. Finally, they filled the treasure chest up with jewels and left the key!
Picture
Evie and her mummy created this Ankylosaurus from recycled objects: an orange carton for the body and toilet-roll holders for the legs! They used the process of paper mache to build up the body and glued and painted foam balls to effectively create this type of dinosaur. Finally they created a little nest for its eggs. Well done!
Picture
Isla and her mum created this new character: a 'Recyclasaurus' and a story. They used a recycled chocolate box for the gold-eye shaped mouth and head, a milk bottle for the body and a green tea box for the legs. Green tissue paper was used to create the scaly body. Well done - a really imaginative idea.
The Seaside
Picture
Abiel, and his mum, built and painted this authentic pirate ship. They used foam for the deck, wooden sticks for the rigging, and black paper for the cannons and sails - the cannon tubes were secured with glue to the boat. Well done!

William and his dad designed these delicate sea creatures using different shells and rocks from the beach. Well done - a lovely beach scene.

Picture
Isla created this beautiful under-water scene with her mum. They mixed the paint colours to create the deep blue ocean and used glue which dried clear. They visited the beach to collect lots of shells, seaweed and pebbles. Isla gave herself a challenge and tried to spell the words on her own and looked up the descriptions.

Charlie worked with her mum to make this rocket (right) out of a tube, foil, cardboard, tissue paper and paper.
Daisy designed this rocket (left) from a recycled coke bottle, spray paint for the window, and a personalised name!
Out of this World!
Picture
Sophie and her mum created this rocket from a glue gun tube! This was covered in foil and tissue paper added to the base to create flames. Foam letters formed the rocket name 'Sophie'. Card slots were also added to the base to secure it. The final touches included warning tape!

Ethan and his dad created this super rocket using many designer key skills; they measured different diameters for the discs and used the laser cutter to cut these and to plain the rectangular discs on the base. Red and silver spray paint were used to spray the rocket with masking tape.

Picture
Kian worked with his Grandad to bring this rainforest bird to life! Kian helped to stuff the material and draw the black lines on carefully, measuring the distance between them and keep them straight. Great teamwork!
Minibeasts
Picture
Hayden created this mini-beast habitat out of a shoe box and filled it with colourful creatures. He also made a scrap book information book - well done Hayden!
Picture
Rainforests
Picture
Georgia worked with her mum to create this jungle-themed cushion. First they carefully drew their design out on felt. They then cut out the shapes and sewed them onto the tea towel before finally stuffing the tea towel. Well done - many designer skills have been utilised here.

Katie worked with her mum to make this Big Ben; they found 4 boxes, placed the biggest box at the top, and used glue to strength the structure. Well done!
Picture
Bonnie and her dad used toilet roll cylinders and cereal boxes to create the animal structure, glued the parts together and added yellow and white tissue paper. They then painted on the brown pattern and glued on the eyes. Great design and strong and sturdy!
This WW2 fighter plane was created by a pupil and her dad using recycled cardboard for the structure. Design skills of researching, planning, drawing, cutting, gluing and painting were needed alongside
creative thinking for the materials (straws, propellers, food pots and wires!) This plane will be flying in our school hall soon!
Sophia designed this Ancient Egyptian scene with her mum and sister.
The pyramid was made out of sugar cubes, and each Sophia the Egyptian Queen photo has a fact on a scroll. The base is made of tin-foil.
Lots of design and mathematical skills were needed to create the pyramid, tomb and sphinx!

Picture
This Trafalgar Square's Fourth Plinth sculpture was designed by Connor and his grandad. They used tools such as a hammer and chisel. Well done!
Picture
Bradley and his mum created this Walton-on-the-Naze tower from a pringle tube and strengthened the top of the wall with cardboard. Well done!

Picture

Picture
Jack's Egyptian temple! Each brick was marked with a special utensil. The door to the pyramid opens to reveal the Pharaoh and his servants inside!
Picture
Picture
Sophie created this volcano model out of plasticine and painted and labelled it to show the eruption process; she has shown designer skills and geography and science knowledge.
Picture
This rocket was constructed using different materials; these included metal bolts, silver tape, super glue and cell batteries. The lettering is the same as astronaut Tim Peak's rocket that launched on December 15th 2015.
Reece made the worm to the right, with his mum. They painted the worm in bright colours and created a natural habitat for him out of leaves and twigs.
Picture
