Welcome to 3G!  My name is Mrs Goldsmith and I am delighted to introduce the class website.
Picture
We are supported by Miss Smith and Mrs Bangs in the mornings and Miss Marsh in the afternoons.  On this page you can find out information, see important dates, look at the topics the children have been learning about and see some great examples of children's homework.  Please pop back to keep up to date with your child's learning.

Keeping in touch:
If you wish to contact me you can use the form below where I will reply as soon as possible or alternatively, phone the school office to arrange a suitable time for me to call you back.

School Council:
Congratulations to our class councillors who both gave excellent presentations to secure their votes for a place on the school council.  I'm sure they will both be brilliant in their new role.

Our Learning Councillors and Eco Councillors for this year will be involved in a variety of exciting projects.

Outdoor play times and learning:

We often have the opportunity to take our learning outside, or get an extra play time! Please can children come into school prepared for the colder weather. It can be very uncomfortable if children are outside for more than half an hour for play and lessons, if they only have a light jacket and unsuitable footwear.  Children can bring boots into school for playtimes.  If they come to school in boots, please bring in school shoes that they can change into.  Gloves and hats are a good idea too - names in all of these please!
PE
Our PE sessions are on Tuesday morning (indoors) and Thursday afternoons (outdoors). Please ensure your child arrives in the correct kit.  Plain white t shirt and red shorts for indoors with plain black, red or grey tracksuits for outdoor sessions.  No logos please. Jumpers should be clearly named.  If your child has their ears pierced, they must be removed before school if they cannot take them out by themselves.  Long hair must also be tied back.

Spellings and Times Tables
Times tables will be tested on a weekly basis.  Spelling homework can be accessed via Spelling Shed.  Log in details are in the front of the small red homework books. Children have the opportunity to practise these in school, however, there is an expectation that practising will continue at home to boost their success.  Children receive certificates when they achieve their individual targets.

Homework
Homework is due in on Mondays.  There will be a rotation of Maths, times tables and spellings and Learning log style homework. Reading records can be found in the small books and should be signed to show how many times your child has read - at least four times a week.  Homework is given out again on Tuesdays.

Each term we also invite children and parents to join together for a parent - pupil project.  It is a great opportunity to create something special with your child.  We have had paint, wood, cardboard and even cake used as building materials!  The only restriction will be the size of your project.

Our Class Charter
In 3G we have discussed what it means to be a successful learner.  We agreed on our class rules,
using our thinking skills characters and our core values to set out our ideas, helping us become the best we can be.  Our favourite is Yeti!  Ask your children to tell you why we love him so much!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Welcome to our Autumn Term webpage where we will share our news and learning this term.

Our theme will be ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl. As well as reading the book, we will watch scenes from the film as inspiration for our writing and theme lessons. Art, Geography, Design and Technology and science will all be based around chocolate.

Thank you for continuing to support your children with their homework, reading and of course the parent/pupil projects!

We Would Love to Have You Visit Soon!             Address: Primrose Road, Holland-on-sea, Essex, CO15 5PP
